Séminaire : AIoT-Driven Intelligent Aquaculture: Toward Tilapia Farming
Intervenant : Abbassa Mohamed
Résumé : The rapid expansion of tilapia farming has accelerated a global transition from traditional, reactive management toward precision aquaculture. However, conventional practices remain labor-intensive and inefficient in managing feeding, disease detection, and water quality. This presentation provides a structured and insightful overview of how the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can address these limitations. It highlights key advancements in AIoT architectures, illustrating how multi-layered systems combining sensing, communication, data processing, and intelligent decision-making enable continuous monitoring, prediction, and automation. The presentation also synthesizes important findings from recent studies, demonstrating the effectiveness of machine learning and computer vision in improving productivity and efficiency. Beyond theoretical analysis, it emphasizes practical, low-cost implementation strategies and the importance of deploying these solutions in real-world environments. In particular, this work underlines the strong potential for adopting AIoT in Algeria, positioning it as a promising step toward smart, sustainable, and locally adapted aquaculture systems.
